My Story: My First Major Relationship and Weight Gain

image

Hello everyone. My name is Charm and this is my story. I met a guy through a mutual friend and we became very good friends. We eventually became more than friends. During our friendship I stayed at around a size 10/12. I watched what I ate and I exercised.

I was doing very well with maintenance until we started dating. He told me he loved me whatever size I was. I took him seriously and started gaining weight. The funny part is so did he. He gained sixty pounds and I gained over one hundred pounds.

I couldn’t fit any of my clothes anymore and I looked totally different. I wasn’t exercising anymore. I wasn’t eating healthy anymore. I had taken a huge step back. I really didn’t care because he loved me no matter what I looked like.

Here’s the thing. We got married and eventually divorced. I was a 22/24 when we split up. We weren’t together anymore and I had gained a lot of weight. I didn’t know what to do. It took me over ten years to lose most of the weight. I learned a big lesson. Weight loss is a personal thing. I let my weight be about someone. I haven’t done that since and it’s working much better for me.

About the author

Charm

I've been on my weight loss journey since 2007. I was facing several medical conditions and seeing several specialists. The doctors told me to lose weight or face some very serious consequences. I decided to start losing weight. I've had many ups and downs on this journey. I've had two surgeries and several outpatient surgical procedures. I'm no weight loss expert but an average person. I've done lots of research and experimenting and found what works for me.
